Laser teeth whitening is one of the most effective ways to achieve a whiter smile in short time. Laser whitening restores the original color and tones of the natural teeth. A whitening gel is applied on the teeth and a high intensity plasma light is used to activate the whitening ingredients. Generally only two sessions of 30-60 minutes are enough to achieve the maximum whiteness of the teeth. It is slightly more expensive comparing to in-home whitening alternatives since the results are better and faster.
At Home Teeth Whitening
Our dentists will prepare a set of trays that fit the patients teeth perfectly. Patients apply the gels prescribed by the dentist into the trays and use them as recommended to achieve a brighter smile. The gel applied is usually Carambide Peroxide, and depending on the condition of the patients teeth the concentration levels of the gel may vary. On average, the treatment takes 10-15 days where the trays are used between 4-6 hours a day.
This method takes very little time at the dentist and it is relatively cheaper. It enables the patients to use the method at their own convenience. However, it might take significantly longer to achieve the desired outcome with this method comparing to in-clinic method.
Combined Teeth Whitening
In some cases combining in-clinic and at-home teeth whitening methods give the best results. Usually the patient visits the clinic on the first session and the dentist applies in-clinic method with the plasma light. Following the clinic treatment, the patient uses at-home methods for some time to support the procedure and achieve the best possible outcome.
Aftercare
The aftercare is not much different than natural teeth, and with proper care our patients can enjoy a beautiful smile for long years. Maintaining good oral hygiene is very important to protect the enamel from bacteria that might cause staining and discoloring. Certain habits such as smoking or drinking might cause a yellowish color overtime. It is recommended to avoid such habits and use a whitening toothpaste to support the shine.
