Thigh Lift / Thighplasty
Thigh Lift is a surgical procedure that improves the contours of the thighs by removing excess fat and skin. Various factors such as age, pregnancy or weight loss may cause thighs to become loose, soft and disproportional. With Thigh Lift operations, patients can get their thighs tighter and increase the tones of their legs to achieve the desired looks.
There are three types of Thigh Lift operations:
- Inner Thigh Lift: Focuses on lower area of the inner thigh
- Medial Thigh Lift: Focuses on upper area of the inner thigh
- Bilateral Thigh Lift: Focuses on front and outside on the thigh
Before Thigh Lift in Turkey
The surgeon will evaluate the overall health and medical history of the patient. The surgeon might temporarily change some medications the patient is using with other alternatives. Patients will discuss the desired outcome and plan the treatment with their surgeon.
During Thigh Lift in Turkey
The surgeon will make an incision to remove the skin and fat from the area. The location and the pattern of the incision depends on the patient, the technique and the area to be treated. Once the skin and/or fat is removed from the thighs, the tissues beneath are reshaped and tightened. Finally, the skin is sutured into place at the incision site.
After Thigh Lift in Turkey
After the operation there will be soreness, bruising and swelling in the area. Compression garments are recommended to control the swelling and support healing. Drains may be placed to collect excess fluids and minimize the risk of infection. Anti-inflammatory medications and pain medications may be prescribed during the healing period.
Sutures will be removed within 2 weeks. Most patients are able to return to work in 7-10 days and resume physical activity in about 4-5 weeks. The scars are located in parts of the body where they can’t be seen easily, and they will fade overtime. The results of the operation can be seen immediately, however it might take a few months for the swelling to disappear and the long term results to be seen.
